As a community Care agency we provide assistance and support to older and disabled residents of the Ashford, Folkestone, Maidstone with the sole aim of maintaining their independence and well being by a variety of means, all carried out by well trained staff.

We aim to provide professional care and support within your own home. Our highly trained care staff and management will be able to put together a package of care that suits your needs and budget. Care and support needn’t be all that much. As little as an hour a week might be enough to ease some of the burden and help give you the time to enjoy the things in life you like and are more able to do.

Returning from periods in hospital is a vital time. We can provide intensive levels of care in order to re establish your confidence and health quickly and with dignity. This can then be trailed off leaving you back in your own home and hopefully enjoying the life you lead before your stay in hospital.

We are also all too aware that support needs change from almost day to day. We recognise this and can quickly change care packages to suit your needs. That can mean less support if needed, to increasing support at times of crisis, often at very short notice. We can adapt and tailor your care and support to suit your needs, not just from the outset but on a daily basis if needed.

This fairly new way of working has aims which mirror our own, in that we work to help a person achieve their maximum potential. In essence regaining your independence and confidence and in the process minimise the need for long term care.

How do we do this, it’s very simple. By setting goals, however minimal, our staff will work with you to make slow and steady progress in achieving them. From simply making a cup of tea to being able to walk to the front door.

A stay in hospital following an operation can be frustrating and in some cases very undesirable. Most hospitals will now discharge people who have adequate support in place when they reach home. This is where we can help.

We can provide staff to help you with this post operation period. By helping with daily care of yourself as well as help in and around the home we can make sure that your convalescing period is as stress free and as comfortable as possible in the surroundings of your own home.

Anyone who is responsible for the day to day care needs for someone will know the amount of strain it can bring both physically and emotionally.

We can offer a Respite service for you the carer who is looking for a break to re charge the batteries.

We can work with you to formulate a plan to allow you time off during the day and even put in 24 hour care to give even more time to yourself.

A sitting service can be very beneficial to carers whose daily life task can become difficult whilst providing care and support, sometimes for extended periods.

Our staff can provide expert support in order for you to feel secure in the knowledge that your loved one or friend is being cared for whilst you attend to your own life or simply just have a break.

During this stressful time it is important that if help is needed it is done with the upmost dignity and professionalism. Night time care is especially important during these times and we have built up a core of staff who have vast amount of experience in this field.

We have worked closely with the Pilgrims Hospice and other end of life providers. We are fully adept at integrating with other support groups to give help and care seamlessly where it is needed.

Care and support for people suffering with forms of dementia can be difficult, creating stress and anxiety for all those involved. Our highly trained staff can help ease the burden.

Simply providing a 1 or 2 hour break through the day allows you the chance to catch up on the things you need to do whilst also providing a break from your day to day environment.

This small input can sometimes make a lot of difference. We can also help in training and guidance in the care of people with dementia. This empowers you the carer with better knowledge of dementia care and again helps in easing the stress involved in caring for dementia sufferers.

Meritum had been increasingly asked to help support people with multiple needs which have a serious and profound effect to their quality of life.

With this in mind and the need to work with and support family, Health and Social Care professionals, Integrated Care was born.

Since our launch Integrated Care has taken on a growing number of clients from children to adults helping them lead more normal lives in their own homes.
